Tasks

Analyze customer requirements and formulate technical and commercial means to satisfy needs. Using understanding of customer needs, offer valuable proposals to meet customer requirements and develop sales plans to meet sales and project objectives. Establish, maintain and create long-term relationships with customers. Evaluate and analyze technical specifications, demand and future developmental needs of the customer. Oversee and coordinate execution of development and technical process within company for customer base. Support and assist customers to find better solutions and alternatives in the field of Fastening Technology. Develop and secure market position within specified customer base. Prepare technical reports and presentations. Attend trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events, as needed.  Travel between U.S. and Mexico up to 20% of the time and internationally (mainly Germany) up to 10% of the time.

Profile

At least a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.  (In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, will accept two years of university-level education, plus 2 years of engineering-related experience.)  In addition to educational qualification above, must have at least 5 years in each of the following: designing Metal Fasteners (Internally or Externally threaded) and with Automotive Fastener supplier or OEM Fastener Design; using design knowledge of high strength engine critical and chassis fasteners and application knowledge of high strength engine critical and chassis fasteners; using a working knowledge of torque-tension-friction relationship theory of fastener rundown tools and employing the ability to read and interpret torque-angle charts coupled with and strong understanding of clamp load measurement in fasteners using principles of ultrasonics; designing fastener-testing routines to evaluate tensile strength, fatigue strength, friction and corrosion properties coupled with strong presentation; and writing technical reports.  Included must have been at least 3 years of experience using MS Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint including the ability to create PowerPoint presentations and perform data analysis using Excel pivot tables.  Must have solid knowledge of: metal cold forming principles of microstructural transformation of carbon steels using Heat Treatment principles and of GD&T principles coupled with ability to read and understand engineering drawings; and SO, ASTM and other globally accepted fastener standards.
