First bolts produced in Mexico

It is “La Ola” (Mexican Wave) time at our production site in Mexico. Almost one year after the ground breaking in León, the first bolts have recently run off the press machine.

“We are thankful for all the hard work that our teams of the cold pressing and maintenance departments have put in to get everything up and running. They did an exceptional job to get the best conditions for the production of our first bolts”, says Cesar Gonzalez, COO Mexican Operations.

The first hexagonal M16 bolts were produced by a SP48 press machine and they will be delivered on to our joint venture FACIL shortly thereafter. They are destined for Daimler Trucks, where they will go through a validation procedure. Meanwhile, a second press, a SP37, is being tested and the focus then goes towards the start of the heat treatment line in order to have the full production process implemented soon.  Further initial customers of our operation in León are FCA, FORD and GM.
